Denise Charlane Dulaney, age 60, a longtime resident of Wheaton, died at home on Sunday, May 17, 2009. She was born on August 14, 1948 in Canton, Ohio.
Denise graduated from Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois and went on to earn her Masters Degree in Mathematics from National Louis University. She was a longtime middle school math teacher in St. Charles District 303 and retired in 2004. During her career her passion was making math come alive for all students. Denise had a great impact and influence on the many students that she taught and touched.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Edward, two children, Laura (Rusty) Welch of Grayslake, and Greg Dulaney of Chicago, two grandchildren, Catherine Denise and Rhett Scala Welch, her mother, Catherine Wright of Homer, five siblings, Dawn Wright, Diane (John) Anto, Deline (Joe) Dendy, Keith (Linda) Wright and Kevin (Kristie) Wright and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Roy L. Wright.
A memorial visitation will held on Thursday, May 21, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Gary United Methodist Church, Main and Seminary St. in Wheaton.
