IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Delphia M.
Carbone
December 18, 1922 – June 28, 2025
Delphia Marie Carbone, 102, of Carol Stream, IL, formerly of Wheaton, passed away on June 28, 2025. She was born on December 18, 1922, in Vichy, MO, to Thomas Jefferson and Lula Weaver Bell.
Delphia leaves behind her dear son Joseph (Diane) Carbone, son-in-law Robert Ryan. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Patricia Ryan, which was a loss that left an indelible mark on her heart. Adored grandchildren, Patricia (Nick) Pinchok, John Ryan, Steven (Beth) Carbone, and James (Denise) Carbone. Devoted great grandchildren, Shannon, Cole, Megan, Adam, Claire, and Caitlyn. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Delphia was preceded in passing by her husband of 65 years Frank W Carbone, her parents, her brothers Homer, Dexter, and Clay, and her sisters Laura and Faye.
Delphia grew up on their farm in Vichy, Missouri and after graduating high school, she moved to Rolla, Missouri, where she worked as a long -distance overseas operator during WWII. She also volunteered at the USO, where she met Frank, her future husband. When she married and moved to Chicago, she worked many jobs, including working on the production line at Mars Candy Company for 20 years. After retiring from Mars, she became a volunteer at Central Du Page Hospital and later an Ombudsman for Du Page County.
Over her many years Delphia pursued many different interests including quilting and various crafts which continued when she moved to Windsor. She enjoyed playing games, working puzzles, and winning at bingo. Her door was always open for coffee and conversation. She was generous with her time and loved to help others. The greatest joy in Delphia's life came from her family and close ties with many friends. Although she is no longer with us in this life, she will never be forgotten. We take great comfort knowing that she is at peace with the Lord.
