Debra Brandt (née Cole), aged 70, of Wheaton, Illinois, was called to her eternal rest on August 6, 2024. Born to John and Dorothy Cole on January 10, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Debra was a woman of great faith and scholarship, holding a Ph.D. in Judaic Studies and a Master's Divinity in Rabbinic Studies. Her life's work as an Ordained Rabbi, speaker, author, and educator, including her esteemed roles at the Judaic Studies Institute, touched many lives through her wisdom and dedication to teaching.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 36 years, Scott Brandt, and their beloved son, Scott Jr. Debra's spirit is carried forward by her siblings, Kevin, Julie and her spouse Joseph, and Shelley and her partner Robert, as well as her adored niece Heather, Heather's partner Jason, and their daughter October. Her gentle soul, boundless compassion, and nurturing love were the cornerstones of her family life.

Debra now joins in peace those who have gone before her: her parents; her cherished grandparents, Julia and Joseph O'Bradovic, and John and Grace Cole; along with her dear aunts and uncles.

As we bid farewell to Debra, we are comforted by the knowledge that her legacy is one of love, family, and enduring friendships. She remains forever in our hearts, guiding us with the memories of her kindness and the lessons of her life. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family at Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton from 8:30am until 11:30am. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
