Our loving mother, Dawn Joy Cavalco, age 83, a long-time resident of Wheaton IL, passed peacefully on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield IL. She was born October 8, 1938, in Chicago IL to Harold and Margaret Frey.

Dawn moved to Tucson AZ with her family when she was eight years old, and she loved the mountains and desert landscape. She met and married Ronald Williams in 1957 and they began to start their family together. In 1963 they moved back to the Chicago area and Dawn went to work for the Sunbeam Appliance Company. She loved working at Sunbeam with the Sales Team and many of the friends she made there are still her friends today. In 1987 she married Robert Cavalco, and together they began to travel and make many new friends around the world.

Her life centered around her Christian faith, and she was an active member of the Wheaton Bible Church. She shared her faith with family, friends, and strangers through her works, and her warm smile.

The last several years she was a resident of DuPage Care Center where she received excellent care. Although she struggled with many health issues, she never lost her positive outlook and was an inspiration to all. She always had a sweet tooth and would often forgo eating her meal to save room for dessert, and this habit continued at the care center.

She is survived by her sons, Steven (Laura) Williams of Midlothian VA, Mark (Dina) Williams of Chandler AZ, six grandchildren, Nathan, Andrew, Grayson, Alexander, Anthony and Anna, and four great-grandchildren, Carson, Alec, Nolan and Austin. She is also survived by her brother Terry (Carol) Frey, sister Sue (Al) Buffington, several nephews, one niece, and three stepsons Michael, James and Thomas Cavalco.

Dawn was preceded in death by her son Michael, sister Sherry, and husband Robert.

Interment will take place on April 22, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
