David A. Sekulski, age 86, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died October 23, 2022, at AccentCare Hospice in Naperville, Illinois.

David was born on August 14,1936 in Toledo, OH. He graduated from Macomber High School in 1955. Then he married the love of his life, Jean Ruhl. They married on August 27, 1955. They had 61 years of wedded bliss, until she passed away in 2017.  He and Jean owned an Industrial Floor Maintenance Equipment company together. Over the course of their marriage they lived in Indianapolis, Seattle, and finally settled down in Wheaton where they had resided for over 57 years. They had two beautiful daughter and five handsome grandsons. David enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. His favorite activities were going to their theater performances, sporting events and taking them to the movies. He also had many close friends that he considered family. David and Jean frequently enjoyed visiting their lake home in Wisconsin for the fresh woodland air, nature, and relaxation.  He was devout in his Catholic faith.    He passed peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherry (Nick) Poulos of Aurora, IL and Jennifer (Scott) Williams of Aurora, IL; five grandsons, Stephen (Maggie) Poulos and Eric (Devon) Poulos, and Brady, Jackson and Everett Williams; his sister Darlene (Dee) Arehart and his brother Dennis (Chris) Sekulski plus many nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his loving wife Jean of 61 years in 2017 and by his parents, Peter and Helen Sekulski

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. Prayers will be said before the Mass on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 9:15 am at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 0S233 Church St., in Winfield, IL. Interment will be private at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
