IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Alan
Lindblade
August 2, 1938 – March 30, 2025
David Alan Lindblade, age 86, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream entered the presence of God on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
Born in Davenport, Iowa on August 2, 1938 to Lester E. and Merle O. Lindblade. David grew up in Moline, IL and played violin during his high school years. He graduated in 1960 from Wheaton College. During his time there, he was a member of the Men's Glee Club. He entered the Army as Second Lieutenant after graduation and served in Military Intelligence until 1962. Upon returning to Illinois, David worked in management at International Harvester (IH) in Rock Island, IL; Louisville, KY; and Chicago, IL from 1962 until retirement in 1982.
After retiring he started his own businesses: DALCO, direct marketing; Connections Company, supplying parts for farmers' repair needs in the field; and Lindblade Management Group, managing real estate properties in the Naperville, IL area.
David married Ivene Lee Stoneking in 1960. They have enjoyed 64 years of marriage together. They attended the Evangelical Free Church of Naperville from 1975 – 2019. After 44 years living in Naperville they moved to Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL
Music was a lifelong companion for David; from playing piano, violin, and guitar to celebrating his children and grandchildren performing using their own musical talents. David was always ready to help when called with a request, serving others and his Lord Jesus Christ. He liked to "putter around" fixing things. He especially enjoyed time outdoors with friends and family; fishing, boating, sailing, and watching what was happening on Long Lake in northern Wisconsin.
He is preceded in death by his sisters Linda (Lindblade) Hendricks and Zondra (Lindblade) Swanson. He is survived by his sister Mary Ann (Lindblade) MacKenzie of Washington, DC; three children: Kimberly (Paul) Stevenson of Naperville, IL, Jeffery (Candy) Lindblade of Naperville, IL and Christopher (Rebecca) Lindblade of Scottsdale, AZ; his six grandchildren, Caleb (Hannah) Stevenson, Nathanael (Susanna) Stevenson, Isabelle Lindblade, Noah Lindblade, Bria Lindblade, and Hannah Lindblade.
The family will have a private celebration of David's life during the summer in northern Wisconsin.
The family is grateful for the excellent and compassionate care provided to David by the staff at Johnson Health Care Center. In lieu of flowers, friends may send memorial gifts to Benevolent Care Fund at Windsor Park.
