David N. Laughlin, age 84, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born November 20, 1927 in Akron, OH.
After serving in the Navy in World War II, David worked for 40 years as a salesman. He was a Civil War enthusiast who enjoyed football, woodworking and reading. He loved spending time laughing with his family and indulging his wife and cat. He was a member of the Wheaton Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Esther Laughlin; three children, Letitia Underwood of Aurora, IL, Judith Laughlin, of Wheaton, IL and Timothy (Margaret) Laughlin of Itasca, IL; six grandchildren, Kathryn (Shawn) Johnson, Ryan (Lisa) Underwood, Amanda Laughlin, Molly Laughlin, Michael Laughlin and Jessica Laughlin; his great-granddaughter, Everly Johnson; his brothers, Velzie (Helen) Laughlin and Ronald (Candy) Laughlin; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of a funeral service to be held at 2:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St, in Wheaton, IL. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
