David V. Hoffman, age 65, a resident of Matteson, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. He was born March 11, 1957 in Geneva, IL.

David was born in Geneva, Illinois, and grew up in Winfield. He graduated from Wheaton North High School in 1975, and went directly to work as a automotive technician for Maremont Exhaust Systems. He went on to drive big trucks, doing both over-the-road and local hauling.

From his earliest days, David loved all things automotive; his first word after "Mama" was "truck". He loved cars, trucks, and tractors, and could list every vehicle he'd ever owned. His other love was dogs; almost every picture taken of David has a dog in it.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Renee; his daughter Julie Ritt; his mother Rowena Hoffman; his siblings: Dan (Debbie) Hoffman, Marji (the late Rick) Robinson and Beth Hoffman. Also survived by many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Vernon.

A visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187, on Monday, March 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
