David Robert Gustafson, 83, of Carol Stream, IL passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Born August 19, 1931 in Beloit, WI to C. David and Evelyn (Nelson) Gustafson.

David graduated from Clinton High School, Clinton, WI and served in the US Marine Corp stateside during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge from the Marines, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and the University of Maine, Orono. On June 19, 1960 David married Jean Berglund in Princeton, IL. He was a lifelong member of the Redeemer Evangelical Covenant Church in Beloit, WI. David worked for 35 years at Beloit Corporation mostly at the Research & Development facility on paper forming machinery.

Survivors include his wife Jean; three sons, Charles (Anita) of Clinton, SC; Eric (Traci) of Winchester, VA and William (Rachel) of Rockton, IL; five grandchildren, Jon, Erika, Benjamin, Karl and Aren; two siblings, Christine (Robert) Anderson of Elgin, IL and Wallace (Julia) of Beloit, WI; an Aunt Norma Ang of Rockford, IL; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John; a sister-in-law, Gladys; and a cousin, Everett Nelson of Bellevue, WA.

A reception will be held at Redeemer Covenant Church, in Beloit, WI, on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Windsor Park, in Carol Stream, IL.
