David Fletcher, age 72, a resident of Glendale Heights, IL, died on Friday, January 14, 2022, at home.  He was born January 14, 1950 in Akron, Ohio to William and Mildred Fletcher. His family later relocated to Elmhurst, IL. He is survived by his sister Susan Hess, sons, Joshua Fletcher of Wheaton, and Christopher Fletcher (Ashley) of Madison, WI as well as grandchildren Charlotte and Jack.

David was a man of many hobbies and talents, which he imparted to his sons. He loved cooking, the outdoors, fishing, and music. He could fix nearly anything, and tinkered with everything. He was never afraid to try something new and enjoyed a challenge. He held multiple different jobs in his life including in heavy earthmoving, custodial services, and for TSA at O'Hare Airport. In each of theses jobs he was often recognized as a hard worker and valued team member.

David was an avid learner and his passion ultimately led him to pursue a college education. He graduated from Elmhurst College with a dual major in History and Psychology at age 45. He made the Dean's list nearly every semester. Despite the obstacles David faced in his life, his sons remain proud of the fact that their father continually reinvented himself and tried to give them a better life than he had.

A private memorial will be held by the family.
