David S. Christiansen, age 77, died on Thursday, January 26th at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born on December 1st, 1945 in Salt Lake City, UT to Daniel and Alice Christiansen.

David served in the Navy as an Aviation Officer in Pensacola, FL; Great Lakes, IL; Long Beach, CA; and Subic Bay Naval Base in the Philippines during the Vietnam conflict.  He retired as a Naval Reserve Commander.

David graduated from San Jose State University in Aeronautical Engineering and has an MBA from San Francisco State University.

David's faith and devotion were exemplified through his professional sales career, relationships with family and friends, and a missional heart supporting local and international communities. With a life of servitude, he was a long-time member of Wheaton Bible Church and active in various ministries. He was a faithful husband and father, and loved his two granddaughters dearly. David was a scholar and explorer who traveled to over 170 countries and all 7 continents.

David is survived by his daughter, Davia (Matt) of Burnsville, MN; and his son, Scott (Heather) of Wheaton, IL; two granddaughters of Scott & Heather, Evelyn and Leah; one brother, Dan (Kathy) of Hillsboro, OR; and one sister, Nancy (Greg) of Everett, WA.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Darolyn ; and his parents, Daniel and Alice.

A memorial will be held on Saturday February 11 th , with v isitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a s ervice at 11 a.m. A light lunch will follow. Wheaton Bible Church , 27W500 North Ave. West Chicago, IL 60185 .

Interment will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery next to his wife.
