David D.
Ballance
January 8, 1939 – January 18, 2022
David D. Ballance, age 83, a resident of West Chicago, passed away, Tuesday, January 18, 2022. He was born January 8, 1939 in Kinmundy, Illinois to Dale & Freda Ballance.
Dave was raised in southern Illinois along with his sister and two brothers. Nicknamed "Dudley", he met the love of his life, Marilyn Howell, at age 17. They loved going on their special dates in their hot-rod to go antiquing. Dave & Marilyn were faithful members of First Baptist Church in Wheaton for many years and more recently at Pleasant Hill Community Church in Wheaton. Dave loved his work as a mechanic and machinist but found his life's work in carpentry and was never happier than when he could spend time at his shop with his sons. He had a hard time ever saying the word no to his special girls. He lived his faith every day and was the person many of us would run to for advice and wise counsel. He will be missed by so many and we've all been blessed having known him.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn; his children Barbara Jean (Dale) Vierig, Kim Bock, Scott (Paula), and Steve (the late KayAnn); his 14 grandchildren & four great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brother Jerry (Rita) Ballance his sister Karen (the late Carl) Beery; and several special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Taylor.
