Dashrathbhai P. Patel, age 86, a resident of Woodridge, IL, died March 2, 2026, surrounded by family.  He was born June 14, 1939 in Sitapur, India, to parents, Prahladbhai Gordhandas Patel and Hiraben P. Patel.

After having graduated in civil engineering he worked in public works department for nearly 40 years until retirement. He managed the whole family matters. He joined his brothers in America in 1989 and since then he managed the family owned hotel in Watseka, Illinois and raised four grandchildren. He was a very religious person in practicing his faith until his death.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Manguben Patel, his son, Yogesh Patel and his wife Vibha Patel, and daughter, Gita Patel and her husband Kamlesh Patel, and four grandchildren, Paulushi, Sohum, Ankit, and Ami, four brothers, Chinubhai Patel, Chandubhai Patel, Ashokbhai Patel, and Dilip Patel, and one sister, Lilaben Patel, and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Dinesh Patel.
