Dan M. Vallo, age 85, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away, Monday, October 11, 2021. He was born August 29, 1936 in Chicago to Gerald & Dorothea Vallo.

He enlisted in the Army in 1956 and spent three years in the Army Airborne Division. He then was a police officer in Villa Park before joining the Wheaton Police Department in 1963, served as a patrol officer and detective before retiring in 1987. He then worked for a bank investigating credit fraud, then worked for the DuPage County Sheriff Department until 2000.

He enjoyed time with family and friends and had several hobbies through the years, boating, motorcycles, fishing and got his charter boat captain license.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce; his children Troy (Mickey), Mark (Karen), Steven (Lori Holley) & Daniel S. (Kerry) Vallo; his nine grandchildren & four great-grandchildren; his brothers Dirke Vallo & Jack (Bonnie) Domingo; and several nieces & nephews.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 22, 2021, from 3:30 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187 . Private interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
