Daniel A. Tovar, age 22, a resident of South Elgin, IL, and a student at the University of Illinois in Champaign, died January 24, 2015. He was born June 15, 1992 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Daniel graduated from St. Charles North High School, where he ran track and played soccer. He loved to watch sports and his favorite college team was the University of Miami. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He loved his family and considered his friends as family. Daniel was a very kind, loving, caring young man who always put others before himself.

He is survived by his mother, Gloria Tovar of South Elgin, his father, Virgilio (Carolina Mata-Tovar) Tovar of Westport, CT, one sister, Karina Tovar, two step-brothers, Enrique and Alex Pesantez, maternal grandmother, Ascencion Escobar, and paternal grandparents, Zuria Zambrano and Virgilio Tovar. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, IL, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m.
