Daniel Jurgens, age 87, a resident of Rhinelander, WI, died June 16, 2024, at Westminster Suncoast Manor, in Saint Petersburg, FL. He was born September 3, 1936 in Pekin, IL to Daniel and Dorothy Jurgens.
Daniel was an avid collector and restorer of classic cars and he was very fond of hunting in Wyoming for deer and antelope. Daniel was a Master Mason for 66 years as a member of both the Pekin and Wheaton Lodges. Most notably, he is a Past Commander of Apollo Commandery, Knights Templar. In his free time, he enjoyed writing fiction novels and was an avid reader. He and Norma loved to travel and visited all of the national parks by vehicle. Together, they visited all 50 states and took over 50 cruises. Though, as much as he traveled, Daniel would say his favorite place on earth was in Rhinelander, Wisconsin with his family overlooking Round Lake.
Daniel and his wife, Norma owned their own business together. He was a manufacturer's representative for medical supplies and equipment and worked as a pharmacist for many years.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 65 years, Norma Jurgens, his daughters, Tracey (Pete) Smok of Crystal Lake, Jan (Scott) Steele of Poway, CA, grandchildren, Matthew and Christina Smok, and John, Julia and Jessica Steele. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Daniel and Dorothy Jurgens.

A visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton, IL where a funeral service will be held the following day on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
