Damon Lewis Jackson Jr., age 69, a resident of Chicago, IL, died Saturday, July 28, at home. He was born September 16, 1948 in Chicago to Damon L. Jackson Sr. and Juanita Jackson, nee Harbin.
He grew up in Wheaton and graduated from Wheaton Central High School. After high school, he served in the US Army in Vietnam as a paratrooper. He graduated from Northern IL University. Damon had a career in the auto industry and later worked as an insurance appraiser.
He loved tennis, biking, and racing cars. He was an excellent dancer and was well known in the Chicago dance community. He enjoyed roller-skating, fine food and arts.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacey Chavours of Springfield, five grandchildren, Isaiah Harper, Michael Harper, Moriah Harper, Sierrah Chavours and Dennis Chavours; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander Almonord, Sean Harper. He is also survived by his siblings, Charlotte Jackson and Derrick Jackson. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Wheaton Christian Center, 610 E. North Ave., Carol Stream, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield, Illinois.
