Dale Bruckner, 74, of Madison, WI, formerly of Wheaton, IL, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, with his family by his side. Dale was born in Berwyn, IL, on May 31, 1952 to Earl Warren Bruckner and Lydia née Teisitel, the second of two children.
Dale grew up in Warrenville and attended Wheaton Warrenville South High School, class of 1970. In high school Dale participated in band and wrote for the school newspaper. Dale went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing his bachelor’s degree, Dale enrolled in law school at the University of Kentucky in 1974. He earned his Juris Doctoral degree in 1977, and passed the State of Illinois bar exam in 1977.
After completing his education, Dale took a position as a clerk for John Paul Stevens before moving to Aurora to begin work as an attorney. For many years Dale worked as a litigating attorney, specializing in real-estate law, personal injury and corporate law. In 2013 Dale retired from full-time practice after 33 years with Peregrine & Stime law firm.
In his retirement Dale traveled extensively. He also spent his free time with his family, participating in many activities including Grandparents University and his annual Wisconsin bike ride. Dale also enjoyed golfing, reading and acting as an arbitrator.
Dale was a devoted fan of the Wisconsin Badgers football team. Over the years he attended almost every home game and many Rose Bowls and other bowl games. Anyone who met Dale soon discovered this passion.
Dale was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Warrenville, IL. Over the years he served as church council president and fill-in pastor. He especially enjoyed participating in the annual live nativity as well as singing in the church choir.
Dale leaves behind; his wife of 42 years Jackie née Pfaff who he married on 03/01/1984 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Warrenville; devoted children Justin Warren Bruckner and Christian Thomas Bruckner; adored grandchildren Fisher Thomas Bruckner, Owen Daniel Bruckner, and Bode Wallace Brokopp; and brother Randall Bruckner.
Dale was preceded in passing by his parents, Earl Warren Bruckner and Lydia née Teisitel.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Dale’s memory to the Michael J. Fox foundation.
The Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM with a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3S460 Curtis Ave, Warrenville, IL 60555. Bural will be immediately after the service at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 1S150 Winfield Rd, Wheaton, IL 60189. Arrangements entrusted to Hultgren Funeral Home.
