Dale R. Bonga, age 79, a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at home.  He was born March 8, 1942 in Oak Park to Richard and Olivia Bonga.

Dale grew up in Cicero and graduated from Morton East High School.  He attended Bradley University, graduating in 1964 with a degree in Civil Engineering.  He married his high school sweetheart, Cindy, on August 21, 1965.  In 1968, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a financial advisor. He continued to work in senior management at Rothschild with his son, Bart, until 2013 when he had a stroke.

Throughout his life he had a passion for his Christian faith.  He was active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) where he had served as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He also  was involved at the Evangelical Child and Family Agency (ECFA) and was an elder at West Chicago Bible Church. He was also active at Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, now Compass Church and their summer church, The Chapel in St. Joseph, MI.

He enjoyed golf, traveling the world with his wife, watching sports and going to games.  He was proud to have worked at Wrigley Field as a child as an Andy Frain usher.  He attended the World Series to cheer on the Cubs in Cleveland in 2016.  As a season ticket holder he went to many Bulls games with friends and family and taking his grandchildren on the court before the games was a favorite memory.

Being present at his sons' and grandchildren's sporting events was of primary importance, missing very few games, even attending two games the week of his death. During the summer he loved to be with his family at the cottage on Lake Michigan in St. Joseph, MI.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; four sons, Brad (Darcie) of Wheaton, Chris (Katie) of Dana Point, CA, Bart (Jenny) of Brentwood, TN and Bruce (Allison) of Wheaton, 16 grandchildren, Emily, Heather, Cassie (Miles) VanderKlok, Abby, Lucy, Jake, Maggie, Hunter, Ben, Abel, Libby, Blaise, Robbie, William, Claire and Chloe, his brother, Karl (Norma) Bonga and his cousin, Jim (Cean) Cerny.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Compass Church, Wheaton Campus, 520 Roosevelt Rd, Wheaton, IL 60187 , where a funeral service will be held on Friday, January 28 at 11:00 a.m.
