Obituary

Cynthia Elaine Voss, 47, passed away on July 11, 2013 at Central DuPage Hospital, surrounded by her loving family who passed her into God's arms. Our beautiful Cynthia died as the result of respiratory failure.

Cynthia was born on September 13, 1965 in Ft. Wayne, IN, the third daughter to James and Jean Huffman. She confirmed her faith at St. John Lutheran Church, Wheaton, in 1979. She graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1983. She was a runner-up on the Miss Wheaton Belle Pageant, 1983. She studied Child Development at College of DuPage, and she loved her work with children, noting that, among other things, she was instrumental in the potty training of hundreds of local kids. Some of our happiest memories will forever be when she was with her sons, nieces and nephew when they were small. She was such a happy, fun and enthusiastic spirit and children, especially, sensed that in her.

Cynthia married Randal Voss on April 11, 1987 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. This union was blessed with two sons, Adam Christopher in 1990, and Justin Michael in 1995. Cynthia and Randy made their home in Winfield. They divorced in 2010.

Cynthia was employed for several years by Central DuPage Hospital as a Child Care Consultant, helping countless employees with child care needs and developing and directing a holiday child care program. She was also an active volunteer with Winfield Elementary School and Christ our Savior Lutheran Church, Winfield. Those who knew Cynthia will agree that she was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Above all else, Cynthia loved her family, and she was very proud of Adam and Justin. Our hearts are especially heavy, knowing that Cynthia will not see Justin in his 'dress blues'; he is leaving later this month for Basic Training in San Diego, CA with the United States Marine Corps. She loved Adam and Justin so much, and it is our prayer that they will continue to feel her spirit with them throughout the rest of their lives.

Cynthia also leaves behind her parents, Jim and Jean Huffman, her sister Debby Deutsch (Dennis Barnum), her sister Laura Windahl (John) and her brother Matthew Huffman (Kari). Cynthia is further survived by her nephew and nieces: Luke Deutsch, Kendall Deutsch and Lily Grace Huffman. Cynthia was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her Uncle Jack, Uncle Don and Aunt Kathy. We take great comfort in knowing that they are welcoming her into heaven.

Cynthia's family would like to express sincere gratitude to the Central DuPage Hospital ICU staff, as well as all other staff that was involved in her exceptional care. Please know that we as her family felt cared for, too. Thank you.

Visitation will be at Hultgren Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Christ our Savior Lutheran Church, 0S510 Summit Dr., in Winfield, on July 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Aubey officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Church, in Corunna, IN, where she will be laid to rest with five generations of her family. If desired, memorials may be made to the family, for her sons' education fund.

Cynthia, rest now in God's hands. Your time here with us was far too short, but may you find peace forever in Heaven. Know that your family will always, always 'love you more!' and you will remain in our hearts always.
