Obituary

Cindy Green went to be with the Lord, peacefully at her new home in West Chicago, during the early hours of Wednesday morning, November 9 th , 2022.  She was surrounded by her family, friends & church family.

She was born on December 6 th , 1963, in Oahu, Hawaii to Robert and Matilda Douglas, and was the youngest of 4 children.  Her father was in the army and stationed in Hawaii at the time of her birth.  They lived in the Schofield barracks for the first 3 years of her life.  At 3 years old, the family relocated to Chicago Heights, Illinois.  They purchased a home in Steger, Illinois where Cindy lived until her adult years.  At age 27, she met the love of her life, Correy Green.  It was New Year's Eve 1990, at Maranatha Church.  Correy was hanging with the youth that night, and Cindy turned him down as she wanted to hang with adults.  After that some friends had them over for dinner, and through circumstances of Correy's generosity to help Cindy, she was smitten.  Eight months later, they were married.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years Correy, her 3 children Morgan, Casey and Keith Green, along with her sweet puppy Rapha Joy.  She is also survived by her sisters Janet (Steve) Woodward, Linda (Bill) Siegert, and her brother Kevin (Sue) Douglas.

Cindy's life, presence, and legacy lives on through and in all of us who had the privilege of knowing her.  She was a fierce lover of God, and fierce lover of people.  She may have been small in stature, but mighty in faith.  She was generous with all she had.  She had eyes and a heart to see the very best in people and a way of calling out the greatness in others that made you believe it too.

Cindy was an amazing wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, apostle, elder, prophet, and general in the faith.  She was a force of Holy Spirit who was compelled by love and moved with compassion.  Her love was tangible.  Her humility and authenticity were beautiful.  She always operated in the fruits of the spirit and ministered to others, even those who were caring for her when she was the one suffering.  She leaves a big mantle for us all to fill.

The family is holding private services.  The family is asking in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in her honor to Family Life Christian Center, 362 Schmale Rd, Carol Stream, Illinois 60188.  You can give via check, zelle, or venmo,  Please mark your donation as the Cindy Green Memorial.
