Craig Paul Johnson, age 63, a resident of Newark, NJ, died Sunday, December 28, at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born September 20, 1945 in Newark, NJ.
Craig was a 25 year employee of Valcor Engineering in Springfield, NJ. He loved building and upgrading computers. He was an avid movie buff with a large collection of his personal favorites and also enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He took great delight in his five grandchildren and traveled several times a year from New Jersey to Chicago to watch them grow.
He is survived by his three children, Glen (Amanda) Johnson, Matthew (Kerstin) Johnson, Shauna (Bruce) Berman; five grandchildren, Ethan, Kyle and Devin Johnson, and Samantha and Jadyn Berman; his brother, Elliott Johnson; and his sister, Jacquelyn Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Johnson and Phyllis Creekmur, and Richard Creekmur who loved him as a son; and former wife and friend, Jenny Cochennour.
All services will be held at a future date in New Jersey at St. Paul AME Church, 369 Monroe Ave, Kenilworth, NJ 07033 (Phone: 908-276-8057). Interment is private.
