Obituary

Clifford H. Anderson, age 87, a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Sunday, August 28 at Belmont Village in Carol Stream. He was born on August 19, 1918 in Hampshire, IL to Harry and Anna Anderson.

He was raised on a farm in the Hampshire/Union area. During W.W.II he served in the US Army in Italy and North Africa in the 101st Chemical Mortar Battalion. He returned home after the war and spent two years recovering in the VA Hospital in Galesburg, IL. He worked as an electrician for Local 701 for over 50 years.

Cliff was a member of the VFW Post 2164 and American Legion Post 76. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Naperville and Phoenix Club of Aurora.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marion, nee Clist, three children, Richard of Lincoln, NE, Pamela (Tracy) Hartlipp of Carpentersville, and Steven (Kathy) of PawPaw, IL, five grandchildren, Colleen (Mark) Fuchs, Dennis (Jennifer), Kevin, Cheri (Nick) Pettey, and Steven II, seven great-grandchildren, and one brother Glenn (Norma) Anderson of Woodstock.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Geraldine Bires.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A visitation will be held from 9:00 until the time of service. Interment will follow at West Batavia Cemetery.
