Clifford William Gaasrud, 82, of Lake Barrington, Illinois went home to be with his Lord June 6, 2005 at Governor's Park in Barrington Illinois.
He was born February 17, 1923 in Nevis, Minnesota. He was formerly a resident of Park Ridge and Cary Illinois. Cliff was proud to have been a member of the 793rd military police battalion during WWII.
Clifford was carpenter/owner of C.W.Gaasrud General Contractor. Cliff built and remodeled over 100 church projects in the Chicago area. Clifford was in the carpenter's union #58. He was the Sunday School Superintendent for the Irving Park Gospel Chapel and Norwood Gospel Chapel. He was Chairman for the Christian Business Men Committee and Lake Geneva Summer Conference. Cliff was an Elder with Arlington Countryside Chapel, Arlington Heights IL.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 1/2 years Charlotte (Johnson) Gaasrud,
three children, Brian (Linda) Gaasrud of Crystal Lake, IL, Linda (James) David of Grayslake, IL, and Brad (Debi) Gaasrud of Lake Geneva, WI; grandchildren, Kimberly (Kelly) Moore, Heather and Erin Gaasrud; Nathaniel, Nicholas and Noelle Theoharis; Rebecca and Amy Gaasrud, and two sisters, Gudrun Krueger and Thelma (Dr. Jim) Scott.
He was preceded in death by his loved parents Christian and Thora Gaasrud; his dear brother-in-laws, Edson Kruegar and Ray Johnson; and his loved son-in-law Christos Theoharis.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 9, 2005 from 3 - 7 p.m. at Arlington Countryside Church, Hintz and Elm Ln., Arlington Heights Illinois, where services will follow at 7:15 p.m. with Pastor Abner Bauman officiating.
Interment will be held at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary Illinois.
