Obituary

Clarence S. Aronson went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 20, 2017. Clarence was 101 years old when he passed, and his long life was a testament to the gracious humility of one of God's most faithful and generous servants.

Clarence was born on October 12, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois to Folke and Anna (Johnson) Aronson, who had emigrated from Sweden. He and his sister Alice grew up in Chicago, where he attended business school and began working. After his military service to our country with the Army, in 1945, he married a fellow Swedish Lutheran, Dorothy W. Johnson. He secured a job with Commonwealth Edison, and enjoyed a long career with the electric company. He and Dorothy lived in Chicago, Homewood, Berwyn and Glen Ellyn, IL, before they moved to Windsor Park in Carol Stream. Clarence and Dorothy were active in their church together, and raised five children. Clarence was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and is survived by Martha Johnson of Glen Ellyn, IL, Lois Evans of Glen Ellyn, IL, Ruth Drollinger of Bremerton, WA, Carol Franchi of Glen Ellyn, IL and Paul Aronson of Youngstown, FL, together with their families.

Windsor Park was home to Clarence and Dorothy since 1986. Clarence was an energetic and inspirational volunteer in the surrounding communities. His compassionate and helpful presence, and his sense of humor, will be missed by everyone who knew him. Dorothy preceded him in death in 1998, and his sister Alice passed away in 2005. Clarence's peaceful passing was a great blessing to his family and many friends.
