Claire Velde Schneider (Mor), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on January 18, 1951, in Norway, Claire was the cherished daughter of Helge and Ruth Velde and sister to her brothers Anders and Helge. Her family relocated to New York when she was just three years old, where she would grow up and build a life filled with love and joy.

Claire met and married her husband, John Law Schneider, with whom she shared a beautiful and lasting relationship. Together, they raised three sons, John (Bethany), Eric (Kathryn), and Jarred. Claire's greatest pride and joy came from her role as a grandmother to her six adoring grandchildren, to whom she was a source of unconditional love and delight.

Claire had a deep love for her family, a passion for animals, and a remarkable ability to connect with the simple joys of life. She found happiness in feeding ducks, reading, playing games, and spending quality time with her loved ones. Her kind heart and steadfast dedication to her family will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Claire's legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the memories she created with those who loved her. Her warmth, compassion, and devotion to her family serve as an enduring reminder of the love that surrounded her throughout her life.

Claire will be forever remembered as a woman who brought light and love into the world. May she rest in peace.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton.
