Claire L. Parrott (née Schacht) of Wheaton, IL passed away December 26, 2004 at the age of 103. She was born in 1901 in Wheaton to Herman and Benedicta (Bertha) Schacht, and was the second oldest of their nine children. She was a near-lifelong resident of Wheaton living in her home on E. Willow Ave. until the age of 99.

Claire was the beloved wife of the late Ray J. Parrott, loving mother of Ray Jr. "Jack" (Alya) Parrott of Natick, MA, Joel (Karilyn) Parrott of Gurnee and the late Robert Parrott. Sister of Irene Freeman of Wheaton, Elizabeth Youker of Santa Barbara, CA and C. William Schacht of Whittier, CA; and the late Selma Doolittle, Helen Toft, and Elmer, Robert and Phillip Schacht. Grandmother of nine: Julie Moundalexis, Steven Parrott, Jeff Parrott, Sheri Barnes, Janice Larson, Ray J. III (Andy) Parrott, Barbara Parrott, Timothy Parrott, and Kristen Parrott. She was the greatgrandmother of 12: Alex and Megan Moundalexis; Jonathan, Marcus and Maria Parrott; Jayce and Maggie Parrott; Matthew, Bethany, and Thomas Barnes; Ellen Larson and Frances Parrott. Fond aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Prior to her marriage in 1928, Claire worked more than nine years for the Librarian of Records at the Ravenswood office of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. Claire enjoyed cooking, reading and travel. She volunteered at the Wesley Shoppe of Gary Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a long-time member.

A memorial service will be held at Gary Memorial United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main, Wheaton, IL on Saturday, February 12 at 11 a.m.
