Chris Fernandez, age 43, a resident of Warrenville, IL, died on April 20, 2026. He was born March 1, 1983 in Elk Grove Village, IL.
Chris had a deep love for art and was exceptionally creative, especially when it came to drawing. From a young age, he had a natural talent and an eye for detail that made his work stand out. He also had a passion for speed - whether it was fast cars or motorcycles, he was drawn to anything that brought excitement and energy.
He was incredibly intelligent and had a lifelong love of learning. He spent many years in college simply because he enjoyed gaining new knowledge – he was often teased about it. Though he never completed a bachelor’s degree, his intellect and perspective were unmistakable to anyone who knew him. He began his career in graphic design before later working as an accountant at his family’s tax preparation firm.
Chris enjoyed staying active and working with his hands. He loved being outdoors, took pride in keeping busy in the yard, and was known for building an impressive fire -- the bigger, the better. He also enjoyed racing cars, traveling, exploring new places, and asking sometimes painfully challenging questions that led to meaningful conversations. He had a unique way of thinking that made him both interesting and engaging to be around.
Above all, Chris was a devoted son and a caring brother. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents Gary & Diane Fernandez; his sister Jill (Blaine) Miller; his nephews Lincoln & Benjamin Miller; his maternal grandmother Norma Murphy; and his aunt & godmother Lora Fernandez. Also survived by many aunts, uncles & cousins.
