Cheryl Anderson-Wiedenbeck, age 42, a resident of Carol Stream, died unexpectedly Monday, October 17. She was born on December 19, 1962 in Newport, RI to Edward and Carol Anderson.
She was raised in Newport and in Denver, CO. She graduated from Colorado State University and continued her education at University of Colorado in Boulder. Cheryl had a successful career in publishing as an editor of scholarly books. She worked for major academic publishers including: Smithsonian Press, Woodrow Wilson Institute for Scholars, Yale University Press, and others. She completed her career at Quintessence Publishing in Carol Stream.
Cheryl volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in Du Page County.
She is survived by her husband of 9 years, Richard, two children, Arielle and Analiese, two step-children, Brooke and Alan, her mother, Carol Anderson, one brother, Edward Anderson Jr. and one sister, Laurie (Mark) Sharp.
She was preceded in death by her father and her uncle Russell Raffa.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 until 11:00.
