Charles L. Strobeck age 80, a long time resident of Wheaton, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, September 29 at Central DuPage Hospital. He was born on June 27, 1928 in Chicago, IL.
He was active at College Church in Wheaton, Three Lakes, WI Evangelical Free Church and Covenant Life Presbyterian Church of Sarasota, FL. Mr. Strobeck was a graduate of Wheaton College, Class of 1949 with a BA Degree in Business Administration. He was a Real Estate Consultant working with Property Management, Real Estate Leasing, Sales and Development, Commercial, Industrial and Retail since 1949. He has had involvement in Chicago Real Estate Board, Institute of Real Estate Management, American Arbitration Assoc., American Society of Real Estate Counselors, Lambda Alpha, Wheaton Sanitary District, and several other civic and professional organizations. He was member of Chicago Golf Club, Chicago Club and a past president of The Union League Club. Other activities include Boys & Girls Clubs, Chicago Youth Centers and In His Steps Ministries. He was also a veteran of the Korean War having served with the Army Finance Corps.
His survivors include his wife, Janet, nee Halverson; five daughters, Carol (Gary) Buchanan, Nancy (Mike) Perry, Beth (Ken) Ellis, Jane and Jean Strobeck; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Alice Strobeck; one sister, Marie Wegner; and two grandsons, Caleb Buchanan and Jeremy Strobeck.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 3 until 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. Funeral services will be on Thursday, Oct. 2, 7 p.m. at College Church in Wheaton, Seminary & Washington Sts., Wheaton.
