Charles Sherfey, age 80, entered eternal life on December 4, 2021. He was born October 20, 1941, in Bridgeport, Nebraska to parents, Lester and Ruth Sherfey.

Chuck met his wife Marilyn at a ski club and they were married in Chicago on November 22, 1969. They moved to Mt. Prospect in 1971 and he was  involved in numerous ministries at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights. This ranged from teaching the Confirmation class to the board of elders to the national board of pensions.  He worked as a consulting actuary until age 60.  Amongst other interests, he thoroughly enjoyed racing sailboats on Lake Michigan, completing his 25th trip to Mackinac Island in 2006.

Chuck is survived by his children Brad (Joy) Sherfey and Sage (Sean) Youngstedt; and his grandchildren Jane & Peter Sherfey and Elyse & Caleb Youngstedt; He is also survived by sisters Judi Harms and Joy Dannelly and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn; grandsons Benjamin & Levi Youngstedt; brother-in-laws Butch Harms and Ed Dannelly and his parents.

A memorial service will be held on December 11, 2021, the visitation begins at 1:00 with a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 916 East Central Road in Arlington Heights, IL.
