Charles Russell, age 73, a resident of Hanover Park, for over 40 years, died Friday, July 7, 2017. He was born April 27, 1944 in Marion, Illinois to Bertram and Bessie Russell. He grew up in Cartersville, Illinois.

Charlie was a volunteer fireman for Hanover Park for many years. He worked for Brinks, G & G and then for Dominick's Grocery. He enjoyed CB radio and was a handy man who could fix anything.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary, three children, Patti Eyers of Wisconsin, John (Georgeann) Russell of Carol Stream and Charles Jr. (Laura) Russell of Elgin, four grandchildren, Amanda (Sergio) Lira, John Eyers, Charles Russell and Sasha Russell, three great-grandchildren, Tytan Eyers, and Donovan and Cairo Lira, and one brother, James Russell. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings, Bobby, Deloris and Billy.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 119 W. Wise Rd., Schaumburg, IL 60193. Interment will be held privately.
