Charles A. Goodwin, born February 4, 1935 to Horatio and Minnie Goodwin, passed away suddenly on August 9th. He was beloved husband of 45 years to Sidonia "Midge" Goodwin; adored father of Lisa Goodwin, Michael (Melba) Goodwin, David (Min) Goodwin, and Jill Goodwin; beloved "Papa" of Jocelyn, Hailey, Kate, Nicolas, and Ryanne; dear brother of Barbara (Ronald) Johnson and Virginia (late Chuck) Foster; son-in-law of the late Charles and Mildred Janecek; fond brother-in-law of Ronald and Irene Janecek and the late William Shuman; special "Uncle Chuck" to many nieces and nephews, his "little princess" and cuddle buddy Suki, and friend to many.

A life long resident of Wheaton, he was a graduate of Wheaton High School. Charles "Chuck" operated the A&W Drive-In on Gary Avenue for 14 years and Chuck's Appliance Service in Wheaton and surrounding towns for over 50 years. He was an avid gardener known far and wide for his wonderful Heirloom tomatoes and his plentiful zucchinis and peppers that were shared by all. The garden was planted each year for his grandchildren to sell the crop each summer from a stand in his front yard. This year, he only planted 100 tomato plants and passed while harvesting this year's crop. He was a special friend to many and was always willing to lend a helping hand, tools, or share his extensive knowledge.

Box 96322, Washington, D.C. 20090-6322). The family also requests that everyone visit their favorite hardware store, share a cheeseburger and fries, or enjoy a sweet dessert in honor of Charles. He will be sorely missed by all and we are grateful he was in our lives. He will never be forgotten.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL, with a funeral service following at 7:00 p.m.
