IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Caycie Taegan
Arielle Parkman
May 3, 2004 – July 20, 2024
Caycie Taegan Arielle Parkman, age 20, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024. She was born May 3, 2004 in The Woodlands, Texas.
Caycie, who went by Taegan, was born and grew up in Houston, Texas. She moved to West Chicago, Illinois, with her family in 2015, where she went on to graduate high school at Wheaton Academy. An avid artist from a young age, she pursued an art degree at Columbia College Chicago after finishing high school. Most recently, she decided to change course and began to pursue a mechanical engineering degree with aspirations for aerospace engineering. Being a dedicated cat mom, she had to find a better way to support her two beloved cats, Zeus and Poseidon. She was just starting out in this new path and was hopeful and excited about her future.
A creative person, Taegan loved to draw and create worlds and stories and fill them with characters. She believed that art is important and impactful, so she wanted to draw and write stories that would touch people's hearts and lead them to experience new emotions. Taegan enjoyed music and played the piano. She enjoyed drinking coffee and working as a barista, and she could make an award-winning cup of coffee. She loved space and was endlessly curious about what might be out there.
Many of the people who met Taegan were touched by her empathy, her bright smile, and her delightful laugh. One of her most memorable phrases was "Yeah, I get that", usually accompanied with a knowing nod. She loved to find humor in any situation, and her warmth and vibrancy shone through wherever she went.
She is survived by her parents Nathan Parkman and Bonnie Bailey; her siblings Dustin Parkman, Camrie (Darius) Uscinavicius, and Daran Parkman; her maternal grandparents Skip & Linda Bailey and Belva Hall; her paternal grandmother Tommie Ann Parkman; and many aunts, uncles & cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Nathaniel "Buddy" Parkman, Jr.
