Cathy Daugherty-Lynch was a Winter Texan from Rochelle, Illinois, member of Laguna Madre Art Gallery and League, member and notable prize winner of awards at Brownsville Museum of Fine Arts International art shows, past member of the New Brownsville Art League, Rockport Art Center and Harlingen Art League, and accomplished artist and instructor.
Cathy passed to her heavenly home with her Lord on March 20 following heart bypass surgery and rehabilitation therapy at Spanish Meadows Rehab Center.
Cathy was born in Norridge, Ill., 68 years ago. She attended Maine West High School in Des Plaines, Ill. and Northern Illinois University. She worked as Food Service Director for Marriott School Food Services for the Wheaton and Warrenville schools in Illinois.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, George B Lynch; three daughters, Kimberly Gustafson, of Reno, Nev.; and Kelly Ahline and Wendy Daugherty of Janesville, Wisc.; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and her brother, William Winkelman, Buffalo Grove, IL.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Hope, Presbyterian Church, 1771 S. Wiesbrook Road, Wheaton, IL 60189, 630-668-7750. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Laguna Madre Art Gallery, Winter Haven Chapel, Brownsville, Texas, or Hope Presbyterian Church, Wheaton.
