Catherine E. Kush, age 54, a resident of West Chicago, IL, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at home. She was born July 15, 1959 in Dallas, TX.

Cathy was a 1977 graduate of Oswego High School. She worked for Lucent Technologies for 23 years in a technical and sales support roll. For the last four years she has worked as a medical researcher and blogger for Oaktree Wellness Center. She cared intensely about friends and family, and would help anyone who needed her help, especially with researching health issues. She loved border collies, owned two and supported national border collie rescue agencies around the country. She pursued an independent study of homeopathic medicine and had amassed an expansive knowledge of supplements, essential oils and home based pain treatments. She loved her rural home and enjoyed gardening for flowers and herbs.

She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Kenneth J. Kush; her brothers, Ward James (Wanda) Becker of Sandwich, IL, Robert Becker of Aurora, IL and Terry (Joan) Becker of Bristol, IL; her sisters, Christine and Karen Becker, both of Montgomery, IL; her niece, Courtney Becker of Bristol, IL; her nephew, Daniel Becker of Briston, IL; and her long time friend, Kim Ferone of Oswego, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Rose Becker.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 3-7 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Gary United Methodist Church , 224 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment will be private at Pearce Cemetery in Oswego, IL.
