Carolyn "Lynn" MacDonald, age 59, a resident of Plainfield, died of ovarian cancer at home on Thursday, August 27 surrounded by her husband and sons. She was born on May 12, 1950 in Toronto, Canada the second of four children to Norman and June Garbutt.

She was raised in Toronto and attended Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, Ontario where she met Joe MacDonald. They were married on September 11, 1971. Together they served churches in the US and Canada where Joe was the Pastor. She taught many Ladies Bible Classes.

Lynn has been a member of Springbrook Community Church in Naperville and has been attending Bethel Baptist Church in St. Charles where her husband has been preaching. She has encouraged Joe in his work as Metro Director of Chicago Area Christian Business Men's Connection.

She is survived by her husband, Joe MacDonald, four sons, Scott (Julie) MacDonald, Andy (Linh) MacDonald, Steve (Shannon) MacDonald and Jesse MacDonald, four grandchildren, her mother June Garbutt, and a sister, Sandra (Gord) Byers and two brothers, Bob (Jennifer) Garbutt and Bill (Linda) Garbutt all of Ontario Canada, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Norm Garbutt.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 6, at 6:00 P.M. at Springbrook Community Church, 29W771 79th St., Naperville, IL 60564, where friends may visit with the family from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Plainfield Township Cemetery in Plainfield on Monday, September 7 at 10:00 a.m.
