Caroline Tudor Zerlang, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away on Sunday, May 15th at the young age of 26 following a long battle with depression and anxiety. She was born on February 3rd, 1990 in Englewood, CO and survived by her mother Marcia, father Torben, two loving brothers, Mark and Anders, and extended family in the U.S. and Denmark.
Caroline attended Wheaton North High School, where she was a member of the Girls Soccer Team. Following high school, Caroline pursued her gift of teaching children by studying at the Seton Montessori Institute Teacher Education Program in Clarendon Hills, IL and teaching at the DuPage Montessori School at St. Marks Church in Wheaton, IL formerly known as Creekside Montessori School. She also volunteered at the Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center, tutoring refugee children. For the last four years, Caroline worked as a nanny for a wonderful family in Wheaton, caring for the family's two small children, whom she loved very much.
Growing up, Caroline played soccer for the Wheaton Falcons, the Chicago Fire Juniors and Lealta FC. She took piano lessons at the Wheaton Yamaha school, loved her dogs, especially her dachshund Chloe, and enjoyed cooking and baking - she loved baking her key lime pies for friends and family. She was also known for her creativity. She always found refuge in working out at the Wheaton Sport Center, where she enjoyed the company of many of her regular workout friends. She also loved to travel, visiting family on the East Coast and her Danish family and friends in Denmark. Caroline especially cherished her core group of childhood friends. Caroline's beautiful eyes, warmth, and wit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
