Caroline J. Linde, age 85, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.  She was born July 14, 1939 in Chicago, IL to George & Dorothy Lundell.

After graduating from Hirsch High School and Monmouth College, Caroline enjoyed a distinguished career in elementary education. She touched countless lives in the grade schools of Evergreen Park Illinois during her long teaching career at Northwest Elementary School.

Caroline married Ralph Linde on August 4, 1961 and raised their two children, David and Julia in Evergreen Park. Later, Ralph and Caroline moved to Glen Ellyn to enjoy retirement. Caroline was a faithful member and a leader in the Presbyterian church, singing in the choir and serving as an elder and a deacon at both Evergreen Park Presbyterian and Southminster Presbyterian in Glen Ellyn.

Caroline was a long-time member of P.E.O. International, a philanthropic organization dedicated to women. She was an avid reader, traveler, golfer and musician. Through her diverse interests, Caroline gathered a collection of wonderful friends along the way. She enjoyed the theater, the opera and a White Sox game equally well. More than anything, she loved being the grandma to Ripley, Samantha, Andrew and Charlie. She treated her "darlings" to many fun adventures and travels.

Caroline was preceded in death by her son David Linde in 2014. She is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Ralph; her daughter Julia Inksetter (Derek); her daughter-in-law Christine Linde Miller (Gary); her grandchildren: Ripley, Andrew & Charlie Inksetter and Samantha Linde. She was also loved and will be missed by her many cousins and other members of her extended family.

A visitation will be held at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 680 S. Park Blvd. Glen Ellyn, IL 60137, on September 14th, 2024 at 10:00am, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00.
