Carol Anderson Weeks, age 86, of Carol Stream, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at the Emergency Room of Central DuPage Hospital, from complications following a fall in April. She was born on August 8, 1923, in Chicago, one of four children of Bernard and Sarah Anderson.

Carol attended Morgan Park High School and Wheaton College as a member of the class of 1945. On February 20, 1943, she married Joseph Weeks, and with the exception of a two year transfer to Wembley, England, they chose to make Wheaton their home for the next sixty years. Throughout that time she was a member of the Wheaton Bible Church. For the past twenty years, she also enjoyed spending winter months in Bradenton, Florida. Carol enjoyed sewing, painting, and knitting over the years. She was proud of her Swedish heritage, was a life-long learner, enjoyed reading and supported young people's educational opportunities. Carol was solid in her Christian faith and had the gift of encouragement.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joe Weeks, and their three children, Cheryl (John) Rosten of Midland, MI, Dr. James (Lois) Weeks of Venice, FL, and Laurel Weeks of Sunnyvale, CA; eight grandchildren: Lisabeth Rosten, Randy Rosten, Joe (Christina) Weeks, Lane (Chris) DeWan, Nate (Marlene) Weeks, Mark Weeks, Brendan Ittelson and Sara Ittelson; four great-grandchildren, Viggo and Svea Weeks, and Ollie and Soren DeWan; and one brother, Wilbur (Muriel) Anderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Anderson and Ralph Anderson, and brother-in-law, John Weeks.

She was also loved by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton on Sunday afternoon, June 14th, from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A private family burial will be held later at Wheaton Cemetery.
