Carol F. Ostensen's Obituary
Carol F. Ostensen, age 79, a resident of Sarasota, FL, died Saturday, April 26, 2014. She was born September 1, 1934, in Chicago, IL.
Carol received a BS in education from Northern Illinois University in 1956. She worked in IL and CA as an elementary school teacher for nearly 50 years before retiring to Sarasota, FL.
She is survived by her four children, Ken (Lisa) Ostensen of Shakopee, MN, Robert Ostensen of Sarasota, FL, Karen Harris of Sarasota, FL, and Eric (Deb Evans) Ostensen of Wheaton, IL. She also is survived by four grandchildren, Hannah and Olivia Ostensen, Kyle Harris, and Corey Ostensen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Gary United Methodist Church , 224 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association , 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
