Carol M. Lewis, age 91, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, formerly of Wheaton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 28, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. She was born July 17, 1926 in Evanston, Illinois to Moses and Amy Mc Daniel.

In 1927, her family moved to Wheaton and she attended Wheaton Academy. She was a member of College Church since 1935. She married James G. Lewis on August 30, 1947. They raised a family in Wheaton where they later opened a business in downtown Wheaton, Jim's Paint Patio. She did extensive volunteer work at Repeat Boutique for 33 years. Her life was centered around her faith and she touched many lives with her servant's heart. She was active at College Church where she was a Deaconess, was a greeter and served on the Missions Board.

Carol enjoyed gardening, walking at the Arboretum and decorating.

She is survived by her children, Jacquelin Pippel of Wheaton, James G. (Diana) Lewis Jr. of Wheaton, and Charles (Sally) Lewis of Wheaton, 4 grandchildren, Daniel Pippel, Chuck Lewis, Emily Lewis and Steven Lewis, 3 great-grandchildren, Michael, Ashlyn and Mason. She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Lewis, son, Glenn Lewis, brother Malcolm McDaniel, sister, Elsiebeth McDaniel, and three grandchildren, Sarah, Amy and Laura.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 7 at 1:30 p.m. at at Windsor Park Auditorium, friends may visit with the family following the service. Private interment was held at Wheaton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to College Church Benevolent Fund.
