Obituary
Carol Ann Bugh, age 50, a resident of Wheaton for 12 years, died Friday, August 11, at home after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born in Chicago on November 29, 1955.
She grew up in Deerfield, Illinois and graduated from Deerfield High School in 1973. She went to Purdue University and graduated from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.
Carol married Dr. Robert Bugh in 1979. They moved to Wheaton in 1994 when he became the Sr. Pastor of Wheaton Bible Church. Carol was an active member of the church, teaching in the Children's Ministry, serving in the Women's Ministry, and supporting many other ministries. Carol was very active in the cause of Christ around the world, praying for and traveling to less-developed countries, and supporting ministries to the poor and needy.
She was also connected to the Wheaton community through involvement with her neighborhood and her children's schools, both in District 200 and Wheaton Christian Grammar School. Carol was an avid reader, sports enthusiast, and a lover of outdoor activities such as hiking in the Colorado Rockies, water-skiing, and snow skiing.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Rob, her children, Shannon (Luke), Kyle, Alissa, and Ryan, her parents Tom and Lois Weichmann of Dallas, TX, two brothers, Craig (Karen) Weichmann of Greenville, TX and Kent (Mary) Weichmann of Ann Arbor, MI, two sisters, Karen White of Houston, TX and Dr. Kyle (Dr. Tom) Renard of Dallas, TX and nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 3:00-9:00 p.m., at the Wheaton Bible Church, Main and Franklin St., in Wheaton.
Her funeral service will be held at Edman Memorial Chapel, Wheaton College, on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be held privately at the Wheaton Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Capital Campaign at Wheaton Bible Church or Greater Europe Mission.
