Camella Worrell was born January 11, 1922 to Paul and Ruth Bonkrude. She was born in Canada. Her parents were homesteaders, building a farm on the prairie of Saskatchewan. Grandfather didn't stay too long. Encouraged by family, he returned to Wisconsin and took over the family farm. She was joined by two sisters. She began her schooling in a one room schoolhouse, graduated high school, went on to Bethesda to become a nurse. She lived through the Great Depression and when nurses were needed in WWII she was prepared to serve her country.
Her trip to Europe broadened her life. We can't even imagine her at boot camp completing an obstacle course. But she did. She served in Europe where she met her husband, Bill Worrell. They married and started a family - William Paul, Jamelle, Janice, Susan, Merrie and Beverly. She continued to give of her time: Witan, Altar Guild at church, volunteering at the hospital, all the time modeling what it means to be a Christian. The church was always at the center of her life. She lived in Akron until 1999, then Medina for 16 years and ended her life in Wheaton at Brighton Gardens.
Her family will miss her.
A lot of people will miss her.
The earth is poorer with her gone. Heaven is richer with her there.
And our continued goal in life is to be more like her.
She is survived by her sister, Lou Jean Klein, five daughters, 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
