C. Drexel Kaminsky, age 95, a lifelong resident of Wheaton, IL and recently of Burlington, WI, died Saturday, February 18, in Burlington. He was born April 9, 1921 in Wheaton to Columbus Drexel and Elizabeth Kaminsky.

Drex grew up in Wheaton. During WWII he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific. He then went on to graduate from Knox College. For many years he worked for Sears as a Credit Manager. Through friends at Sears he met Joan Horvath and they were married on June 25, 1960.

After a long career at Sears, he retired and began a second long career as a bus driver for Laidlaw, which he greatly enjoyed.

He was a kind and gentle person. He enjoyed sports and kept busy attending his children events. He also enjoyed horses and animals. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, four children, Jan (Richard) Quill of Sandwich, IL, Kathy Kaminsky of Burlington, Jeff (Cindy) Kaminsky of Wayne, NE, and Scott (Jody) Kaminsky of Evanston, IL, two great-grandchildren, Jennifer Moore and Michelle Quill and two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Eli. He was preceded in death by his son Ernest Allan Kaminsky in 1980 and four siblings, Jack, George, and Tutie Kaminsky and Jean Ehren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, IL. A mass will be held on Friday, February 24, at 11:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
