In Loving Memory of Brees Benjamin Williams

“For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb.  I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”Psalm 139:13–14

Brees Benjamin Williams died in his father's arms at Central DuPage Hospital on June 29, 2026. He was born at 9:54 a.m. and passed peacefully into the care of Jesus at 12:05 p.m.

Brees was a beautiful baby with Trisomy 18—fearfully and wonderfully made, completely known, and fully loved. He weighed 4 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 16½ inches long. Though his time on earth was measured in hours, his life was filled with love and eternal purpose.

From the very beginning, our family declared the promises of Psalm 139 over Brees's life, trusting that every one of his days was written by God before one of them came to be. His diagnosis never changed his worth. He was God's beloved creation, intricately formed by His hands, and a precious gift entrusted to our family. Brees's life testified to the miracle of life and the healing of heaven.

Brees is the deeply loved son of Cooper and Maddy Williams and the cherished little brother of Bodie, who eagerly anticipated meeting him, “tackling” him, and showing him his basketball hoop. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandparents, Mark and Amy Burdett and Blake Williams; as well as his great-grandmothers, his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who surrounded him with steadfast love and faithful prayer. He was welcomed into heaven by his paternal grandmother, Hope Williams, his maternal great-grandfathers, Bill Pollard and Craig Burdett, and paternal great-grandfather Rich Hult.

Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to the countless friends, family, and church members who carried us through this journey with prayer, meals, encouragement, and care. We have been sustained by the body of Christ in ways we will never forget.

Although Brees's earthly life was brief, it was abundantly full. His time in the womb was filled with worship, the voices of mom and dad reading God's Word, the laughter and love of his big brother and cousins, and countless prayers spoken over his life.

While our hearts are deeply grieved by Brees's absence, we do not grieve without hope. Because of the Lord’s great love, we have the sure promise that death is not the end. We find peace in knowing that Brees is whole, healed, and forever in the presence of his Savior. We eagerly await the day of the resurrection, when Christ will make all things new, every tear will be wiped away, and we will hold our precious son once again.

He was deeply loved before we ever held him, and his life will forever be a cherished part of our family. We look forward to the day where our family will be made whole again in the presence of the Lord. We praise God for the gift of our son and entrust him completely to the Savior who formed him, knows him, and loves him perfectly.
