Bonnie A. Turnquist, 93, a resident of Brookdale in Des Plaines, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.  Born March 11, 1931 in Trivoli, IL to George and Anna Learned, she spent her childhood living on a farm in Peoria, IL, alongside her two brothers.

Bonnie went on to attend Illinois State University where she received her degree in education, later teaching junior high home economics in Park Ridge, IL. She enjoyed square dancing, baking, sewing, painting, and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter Cindy (the late Joseph) Barber; her grandchildren Joseph (Peggy) Barber, Jr., Jason (MaGee) Barber, Michael (Kim) Payne and Lisa (Shawn O'Malley) Payne; her great-grandchildren Vince Barber, Jansen Barber, MaKinlee Barber, Brett Payne, Carson Payne, Felicity Payne, Kellen O'Malley, and Camden O'Malley; and her brother Frank (Pat) Learned.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Pamela Payne and her brother Gerald Learned.

Services will be held privately.
