Obituary

Bonnetta "Bonnie" Brabenec, 66, died peacefully at home, January 11th, after a lengthy struggle with cancer. She was born in Chicago April 5, 1940.

Bonnie was known by her family and friends for her love of history and art as well as gardening, cooking, and music. She brought spiritual fulfillment to herself and family by playing hymns on the family piano. She also enjoyed travel with her loving husband of 46 years, Bob, and especially sabbaticals spent in Cambridge, England. Love and care of family was always her main priority. She was an active partner and supporter of her husband during his more than forty years of teaching mathematics at Wheaton College.

She is survived by her husband Robert "Bob"; her sons James "Jamie" (Deirdre "Deedee") of Augusta, GA and John (Karen) of White Bear Lake, MN; and her daughter, Laura of Wheaton. Her grandchildren include Jordan (13), Tyler (11), Kate (8), Jacob (12), Aly (10), Katie (8), and Billy (6).

She was preceded in death by her father and mother Harry and Myrtle Lee; and her half brother Bud.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 29W 260 Batavia Rd, in Warrenville, with Pastor Mateen Elaas officiating. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1801 S. Meyers Rd., Ste. #100, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.
