IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bob
Wing
February 4, 1960 – October 24, 2024
Regrettably and unfortunately, Bob Wing of Wheaton passed on to the next chapter in his journey on Oct 24th, at the young age of 64, his devoted family at his side. His wife, four children, nine grandchildren, and numerous friends and family will miss him dearly.
This Gentle Giant began his carpentry career at the age of 14. He grew to be a skilled craftsman running his own remodeling business for decades before "retiring" and working as a full-time Mr.-Fix-it at a local hardware store. All this while pursuing his greatest feat of strength, becoming a black belt in taekwondo.
A contemplative and mild-mannered man, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, nature exploration, fishing, garage tinkering, and reading books in a constant quest of expanded knowledge and imagination.
More than anything, he absolutely adored his wife, Cupcake, and treasured his children, Soda Pop, Buster Brown, Mateo, and Pistol, and those rascally nine grandchildren. Bob's memory lives on with them; his wife, Penelope Wing; his children Angela Wing (Park Whitfield), David Wing (Natalie Hall), Matt Gregory (Stephanie Simpson), and Krystle Seanard (Jordan Seanard); his grandchildren Riley Johnson, Deagan Johnson, Munroe Wing, Bronson Wing, Savannah Gregory, Bryce Gregory, Alexis Gregory, Isabell Seanard, and Iyla Seanard; his brothers Mike Wing and Chris Wing, sister Nicole Wing; and his step-mom Myrna Wing. The loss of this man is an immeasurable heartache. We will spend the rest of our lives filling every moment with laughter, kindness, and acceptance in his honor.
Bob worked hard, laughed hard, and listened hard. In his parting days, Bob's last words echo his very nature. "Be nice."
Services will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, from 11am-2pm with the "Let's Talk About Bob" portion beginning at 12 noon. Remember, this is not a funeral. We will celebrate his life, and we will celebrate life itself. In Bob fashion, feel free to dress casually. Perhaps a flannel, your favorite Carhartt or Wrangler, and definitely not in all black.
"Oooooookay, bye."
