Services for Bill Thompson, 88, will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, September 27, 2018, at the Wheaton Bible Church with Pastor John White officiating.
Born November 22, 1929 in Holland, New York, to William and Florence Thompson, he went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 at his home in Wheaton.
Bill & his wife, Betty were missionaries in Liberia with SIM for 27 years. Returning from the mission field, Bill then became pastor of Hunt Baptist Church in New York for 10 years. For the past 28 years, Bill and Betty have lived in Wheaton, IL. Bill served for several years as a Wheaton Bible Church visitation pastor.
Bill and Betty had a passion for internationals and refugees. They were involved with the Liberian Church in Wheaton and were also fully involved in SIM's Ethnic Ministries in the Chicago area until just a few years ago.
Bill is survived by his wife, Betty of 67 years; his children: Judy (Bob) Koci, Nancy (Jim) Molenhouse, Sally (Perry) Moore, Bill (Judi) Thompson, Brian (Cheryl) Thompson, Meanu (Heni) Kayea; 21 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, sister, Francis (Donald) Johnson; and brother, Keith (Elfi) Thompson. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Connor Moore, and three sisters, Florence Thompson, Nadine Littlefield and Natalie Tyler.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment will be in Forest Home cemetery in Forest Park.
